This equipment employs brushes and a high powered vacuum system .We also spray an anti - microbacterial fog inside the duct to maintain a safe system so that your home is clean and free of these types of micro organisms , micro bacteria and such . The Jim Brown Company will come to your home and inspect your system so that you can take a look at the inside of your ducts to see if they need to be cleaned. All systems that have operated for longer than 5 years need to be cleaned . Some will need it more than others . If you are concerned about duct cleaning, want to see for yourself if you think it is time to have the work done , the Jim Brown Company will send a technician out to your home, insert our camera into your duct system , and let you look inside to see what it looks like . HOW IT WORKS The Jim Brown Company has duct cleaning equipment that is designed to go inside of the duct work , in your home or office , and clean the interior of the ducts. All of the dust and debris that are inside of your system will be removed and sucked into the duct cleaning machine. Our equipment has HEPPA grade filters on them to insure that we do not bring any of the materials trapped inside the duct system to you or your home /office ; they all will become trapped and kept inside of the machine for disposal. Duct systems are perfect places for all kinds of organisms to grow . Dust mites, spores of all types, pet dander, bacteria of all kinds and dust itself live in the duct system. It is dark, conditioned, and is close to a moisture source (your indoor coil is where the dehumidification in your home takes place – we all have seen water coming from our air conditioning systems out the drain outside of our homes). Since this is a perfect place for these things to live duct cleaning is very important. Each duct cleaning project has three parts. The first is to insert the camera into the system and have a before picture of what is there and what the system looked like upon arrival. The second phase is the actual cleaning itself. This is where the brushes are employed to loosen up the dust , and all of the particles inside the duct system and these are vacuumed into the cleaning equipment. When all of the ducts have been vacuumed and cleaned , the camera is reinserted in the system to make sure that we have removed all of the debris and foreign matter out of the system . The last part of our cleaning is to fog an antibacterial fog into the system. This is a special chemical fog that is designed to kill bacteria, dust mites, and all micro bacterial organisms that are living in the system. This fog is hard on these bacteria , dust mites and other foreign matter , however it is completely safe for people and their pets to breathe. It was developed by the duct cleaning industry and is a specialty product that we use for this purpose only. FOG INSTALLATION Duct cleaning removes all the dirt, dust mites , pet dander, etc. from inside of a duct system that it possibly can. The equipment is like a giant vacuum cleaner made to clean inside of duct work. It is a specialty used item . Once all the duct work is cleaned , we will introduce an antibacterial fog to the inside of the ducts to kill any living organisms that may still be inside of the duct system .This fog is a special fog that has been tested to be safe for people , pets, and anything living inside of the home or commercial space . It is an industry standard that in a residence , with normal usage ,that the ducts should be cleaned every 5 years . Many of our customers who have had their ducts cleaned have asked us to return sooner than the 5 year time span to rid their systems of any micro - organisms . In these instances , we have found that the ducts are not dirty enough to clean , so we have determined that the service to fog the system as a stand alone service , needed to be introduced . The fog is not sensitive to the number of duct runs in a system so the price is the same for large or small systems. If a home or commercial space has more than one system , the cost to fog is a multiple of the basic price.
